Everything begins when you decide that this wedding imagery coverage feels right for you and you complete the inquiry form below. Once that is submitted, it takes about 48 hours for me to respond. I like to read over any details you provide and create a quote that is tailored to what you need. When we're in touch we can set up a consultation over zoom or at a coffee shop (if possible) to meet and discuss your itinerary and go through what you'd like for photography coverage. Sometimes not all details are firmed up by the time we meet, and that's totally fine! Let's have fun and get to know each other more :~)
After we meet and everything is to your liking, you can begin your booking! I send a confirmation/ invoice that documents the details we have so far, plus the total price for your wedding imagery package. Half of this total is required to complete the booking and secure your date. The other half can be paid up to one week before your wedding date.
Congrats on completing your booking! Our next step is to schedule your 1 hour engagement portrait session. This is an important step in the process. It makes a big difference on your wedding day if we've worked together before and you have some comfort poses and some experience taking photos. If we live too far apart, you already have engagement photos booked or you would prefer to not do them, I'm happy to join you for your rehearsal or plan to meet you the day before your wedding. There is no monetary value for this gift, so I cannot offer a discount if you don't book this session. It's just a nice bonus and I highly recommend taking advantage!
If the location is on or near the mainland or Vancouver Island, I love taking some time to check out your venue! This helps me plan some locations for the different types of photos, like a first look, private vow readings, newlywed photos, wedding party, family photos, etc. I always recommend a variety of settings for your portraits. If a location is at someone's home or in a more private venue, I'm happy to schedule a walk through. I have photographed many weddings without scoping out the location first, so this is not absolutely vital if it can't be done :~)
On the day of your wedding, I arrive to your venue where coverage begins 20-30 minutes early to get my gear together and do some light scouting of the location. Sometimes there's a few venues, from getting ready to the first look and ceremony, to the reception. I follow you wherever you go, as we've planned in advance. Your day is meant for you to enjoy to the fullest, so I take on the task of organizing people, based on a Portrait Priority list that you'll provide me in advance, as well as sticking to your itinerary, which I also keep a copy of. I take (naturally) posed portraits of you and your partner, your wedding party, your families and friends as well as candid shots throughout the day. Some are with motion blur or diffused forward flash, but most are in focus subjects with softly burred surroundings. I enjoy a journalistic approach to capturing weddings, your gallery will tell your story and allow you to relive your day.

A few days (sometimes one week, depending on hours of coverage) after your wedding I like to send some previews that pinpoint certain moments throughout the day. This is always fun because you get an idea of how your photos will turn out! I edit using presets that I've developed over time, and since everyones skin tones, environment, lighting etc varies, so do my edits. I like to take time and develop the tones and colours, so you can expect your full gallery 4-5 weeks after your wedding (once in a while it takes a bit longer for longer weddings). As soon as you receive your previews you're welcome to download and post them! I recommend waiting for the final edits before doing any printing. An eight hour wedding usually yields 400-500 edited images, available in both web size and hi-res file sizes. I do edits in mostly colour and I add some in black and white images as well.
I always appreciate a review from my wedding clients, either via email or google! I always ask permission before posting any of your content, and when you post my work, I always love being tagged so I can see it :~)
